A lifetime of friendship

Darling Sallie, I miss you!  We first met in 1962, and we just "clicked" and became firm friends.  We shared a flat in Bournemouth for a while, when Sal got us a job in the evenings in a Wimpy Bar (like MacDonalds) to make ends meet.  She was brilliant at it, I lasted about 3 weeks.  But it meant we got enough money to buy some very nice new clothes.  We had so much fun and laughter.  Our first babies were born a few weeks apart, and I was living in Bristol by then, but we never lost touch, and we had some lovely holidays in Poole, Sallie and Wink and Mick and I playing poker for matchsticks until the early hours, and playing with the children on the beach all day.  It was always sunny then!!  Sallie was that special friend who I could ring and we'd chatter just as though we had last met a few days before,  even though it would sometime be years in between.  She was so brave and matter of fact when she told me about her Alzheimers - brave, courageous, lovely, gorgeous Sallie.  I shall miss you forever.    Pat xx
